The La Crosse County Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the local history of the La Crosse area and educating the public about our heritage.

LCHS owns and operates the Riverside Museum, the Swarthout Museum, and an historic home, Hixon House. We also host many events, such as the Silent City cemetery tours, the Spotlight lecture series, bus trips, period re-enactments, and other social events in the community.
